New Uses for Old Sewing Patterns

Oh my gosh my work marathon for the past week has come to an end!!  I have worked so many hours at my part time jobs this week  that I have not had time to post or time to craft or time to read all those blogs I follow!! Time to catch up!!

I am sharing a project that I completed a couple of weeks ago.  Most of you know that I am a sewer and have lots of patterns just hanging around.  I decided to put them to good use!!

First I tore the tissue pattern pieces into smaller pieces and found a styrofoam ball and some mod podge.  I then just mod podged the torn pieces on the ball. I did several layers to cover the white of the ball.   EASY!!  Voila........some unique decorative balls!!

  4. I A wreath for Christmas and made the very same balls for them. I love the graphics on pattern tissue paper. They turned out great. I'm visiting from the newbie party and am a new follower.

  7. Hi Kari, What a cute and cleaver idea. I've been wrapping everything up in jute lately, maybe I will have to switch to my old patterns that I don't use.

  12. The noise you just heard is me smacking myself in the head for not thinking of this! I am a sewer with lots of old patterns and keep thinking, 'what can I do with these?' I've seen some ideas in Blogland, but I'm just lovin' these, Kari. If you have more old pattern posts, feel free to swing by and leave me a note--you may want to give them their own category ;). Hugs, Kim
